The term "10-6D" in traffic enforcement codes refers to "Field Contact." This indicates a situation where an officer engages with individuals in a field setting, which could involve gathering information, conducting inquiries, or providing assistance without necessarily being associated with a formal traffic violation or stop.

In contrast, the term may lead to confusion with other options. For example, “Traffic Stop” denotes a situation where a vehicle is pulled over for a specific traffic infraction, whereas “Directed Enforcement Stop” would imply a targeted action based on certain intelligence or patterns of behavior. Lastly, “Home Check” signals a police procedure related to verifying the condition of a residence or ensuring safety in a neighborhood, which is distinct from field contact in a traffic context. Understanding these distinctions is essential for interpreting traffic enforcement codes accurately.
